We went camping and hiking for our anniversary. Camped at the Upper Tonto Creek Campground.
While we were camping we could not help, but think about the "Handcart Trek" that we coordinated the year before back in North Carolina. A lot has happened in that year. A close friend has passed away, others have moved, and Wayne Jr. is doing well in his fight against cancer.
We hiked up the Horton Creek Trail The next day. We did not get all the way up to the spring, but did manage to get about 2/3 of the way up. We had a great time!!
After we left the trail we went for a ride up the Mogolon Rim and to the Bear Flats portion of the Tonto Creek. Fishing was slow, but the day was just great.
On the way home we stopped off for a little 4 wheelin around Sugar Loaf Mountain.
It was great way to spend our 34th anniversary.
